Dr. Mary Ann Friesen received the The College of Health and Human Services Distinguished Alumni Award in 2016.
Mary Ann Friesen, RN, PhD Nursing ’08, is a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) with more than 30 years’ experience in nursing in a variety of roles including clinical nursing, education, performance improvement, and consulting. Currently, Friesen works as the nursing research and evidence-based practice coordinator for Inova Health System, the leading health care system in Northern Virginia. Friesen has been published in a number of journals and is a frequent presenter at professional conferences. She supported the planning for the 5 Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients School of Nursing’s 40th anniversary celebration and serves on the Advisory Board for the College of Health and Human Services.
