There are three graduate certificate programs at the Department of Global and Community Health:
- Graduate Certificate in Epidemiology (this page)
- Public Health Graduate Certificate, Generalist Concentration
- Graduate Certificate in Global Health
The 18-credit hour Epidemiology Graduate Certificate prepares students to apply the principles and methods of epidemiology to health research. The program emphasizes the development of skills such as study design, data collection and management, data analysis and interpretation, and communication of research findings. All students in the certificate program must complete introductory courses in public health, epidemiology, and biostatistics and then choose three elective courses in areas such as infectious disease epidemiology, chronic disease epidemiology, social epidemiology, and advanced epidemiological methods.

How to Apply
Current George Mason graduate students: Most graduate students already at George Mason can add the certificate after writing a short statement about their interest in the program, which is reviewed by the faculty in Department of Global and Community Health.
