Health Communication Research

The health communication faculty at Mason conduct research in several areas related to health communication and social marketing.  Specific areas include climate change communication, cultural/racial/gender communication, e-health communication, environmental risk communication, health message design, information seeking and dissemination, news effects on health and risk perception, and risk/crises management.  The broad research aim of the health communication faculty is to use innovation communication strategies, technology, and campaigns to mobilize populations to adopt health promoting behaviors and for social change.
