Public Health Practice Research

The public health practice faculty conduct applied research in the design, implementation, and evaluation of evidence-based, culturally appropriate public and community health promotion programs, policies, and health services for improving population and community health.  Their work address several pressing health issues including substance abuse, teenage pregnancy, health and well-being of vulnerable populations, and vaccine preventable disease. The public health practice faculty bring theory to practice by assisting community agencies and health organizations in conducting needs and capacity assessments using community-based participatory approaches and then selecting evidenced-based solutions to address identified priorities and challenges.
