College of Public Health welcomes director of academic assessment and accreditation

Deja Jennings

On April 10, 2023, Deja Jennings joined the College of Public Health as the director of academic assessment and accreditation. In her role, Jennings will develop, implement, administer, and evaluate policies and procedures and communicating outcomes required for accreditation of the College, its departments, and degrees.

Jennings will oversee the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) accreditation process for the College in addition to supporting accreditation activities for five other academic accrediting agencies affiliated with the College including the Association of University Programs in Health Administration, the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information, the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education, the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, and the Council on Social Work Education. She will work collaboratively with faculty, chairs, program directors, and other University constituents to ensure that the College is delivering on its mission to provide high quality degree programs for CPH students.

Jennings looks forward to supporting the College and its stakeholders by assisting in program evaluation efforts and the development of best practices for data collection, management, and reporting. Her professional interests include higher education consultation, project management, and education equity. Before joining Mason, she worked for the Council on Education for Public Health and also served as a part-time lecturer.

She holds a Master of Public Health in Community Health from Arcadia University and a Bachelor of Art in Sociology from Bloomsburg University.
