Director of Academic Administration, College of Public HealthWayne Adams is the Senior Academic Affairs Coordinator for the College of Public Health. He is a proud alumnus of Mason, earning his master’s degree in higher education in 2016. His primary role is to support the vision of the College of Public Health through curriculum management, academic course scheduling, and accreditation.
Health Information Systems MAP Clinic Coordinator, HAPMrs. Iqra Hamayoun is the Health Information Systems MAP Clinic Coordinator in the Department of Health Administration and Policy. Hamayoun also serves as the Clinical Informatics Data Manager and HAP Preceptor for the Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics, Population Health Center, and special projects operating through the college. Hamayoun’s research interests include working with vulnerable populations and analyzing community and population-based healthcare to create better services for underserved patient populations.
Assistant Director of Academic Programs, GCHMs. Kelly Beckwith is the Assistant Director of Academic Programs for the Department of Global and Community Health. Beckwith is passionate about making sure all graduate students have an excellent experience from their time as a prospective student through (and beyond) graduation. Before coming to Mason, Beckwith was a public health practitioner in the field of school health.
Director, Area Health Education Center at Mason, NursingMs. Karen Brown is the Director for the Northern Virginia Area Health Education Center (AHEC) at George Mason. She has over a decade experience in community and public health, working for regional teen tobacco prevention programs in eastern North Carolina, in addition to her years as a program coordinator and director with Texas AHEC.
RN Clinical Specialist, Mason and Partners (MAP) ClinicsAmy Burke, MSN, RN, is the RN Clinical Specialist for the Mason and Partners (MAP) Clinics. She has worked at George Mason in the nursing labs, as a clinical instructor, and coordinating clinical and preceptorship placements for nursing students since 2009. Previously, she taught at the Harrisburg Area Community College in Pennsylvania nursing labs.
ECOP Community Peer Specialist Coordinator, NursingJeremy Burton is an ECOP Community Peer Specialist Coordinator for the College of Public Health, School of Nursing. He is a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist with DBHDS and has graduated from the Recovery Leadership Academy in 2021, facilitated by VCU.
Communications Coordinator, HAPIsela Caballero is the Communications Coordinator of the Department of Health Administration and Policy. In her role, Isela supports external communications, event and meeting management, social media, and office operations.
Academic Program Coordinator, Public HealthIsaac Chomitz is an Academic Program Coordinator in the Department of Global and Community Health. Chomitz is focused on advancing the PhD program and providing graduate students the resources they need to become leaders in public health science. Prior to coming to Mason, he worked in private and state laboratories as a microbiologist and molecular biologist.
Assistant Director of Field Education, Social WorkMs. Lisa Climer is Assistant Director of Field Education in the Department of Social Work. In this capacity, she advises graduate and undergraduate students entering practicum, teaches field seminar courses, and collaborates with community agencies and faculty to support and develop field placements and partnerships.
Title IV-E Child Welfare Stipend Program Coordinator, Social WorkKatherine Cornejo joined George Mason University’s Social Work Faculty as the Child Welfare Stipend Program Coordinator in April, 2017.
