Students

The CPH Office of Student Affairs works with all CPH academic departments and university student support services to ensure a positive experience for our students throughout their academic careers.

Hours and Location

Location: Suite 1000, Peterson Family Health Sciences Hall (Fairfax campus)

Hours: Monday through Friday from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Current Mason students please make an appointment through Patriot Connect. Patriot Connect is your go-to tool for scheduling appointments and accessing student support services such as academic advising, student success coaching, and learning services. Appointments can also be made by calling the Office of Student Affairs in the College of Public Health at 703-993-1901 or sending an email to advcph@gmu.edu. We appreciate your patience and will respond to your email as soon as possible.

The College of Public Health's Office of Student Affairs also offers walk-ins for currently enrolled undergraduate students. Walk-ins are available during the fall and spring semesters on Mondays from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm at Peterson Family Health Sciences Hall, Suite 1000. Please arrive no later than 3:30 pm to speak to an advisor. Keep in mind walk-ins are first-come, first-serve, therefore, students may have to wait for an advisor to become available.

How We Can Help

We are involved with students from recruitment, orientation, and academic advising, through degree-conferral. The Office of Student Affairs also includes the CPH Office of Admissions, which offers information sessions to prospective students, processes applications to graduate programs and the BSN nursing program, and answers questions from prospective students.

Academic advisors in the Office of Student Affairs support students in their transition to Mason; connect them to campus resources and involvement opportunities; teach students to engage in a process of self-reflection, guiding them to find degree pathways that match their interests, skills, and abilities; help students function successfully within the university; and assist students in developing and pursuing academic and professional goals.
