Biography
Dr. Freedman is an experienced social work educator and licensed independent social worker. He earned undergraduate degrees in American Indian Studies and Psychology from the University of Minnesota and earned both an MSW and PhD in social work from The Ohio State University. He has been involved in social work education for over fifteen years and is a term associate professor and BSW program director with the Department of Social Work at George Mason University. Additionally, Dr. Freedman has over twenty years’ experience as a human service provider, most of which has been in mental health, substance abuse, and integrated behavioral healthcare settings. Dr. Freedman is a published author and has conducted local, state, national, and international presentations.
